County Clare

St Caimin founded a monastery here – and this is possibly the St Caimin connected with Holy Island in the Shannon. The area is well defined on a slight mound. There is a sunken area surrounded by a small wall said to be his ‘Bed’. There is also a Holy Well for eyes.
