St Daveoc (5-6C) (also Dabeoc) founded a monastery on Saints Island. He was from Wales; this Island and Station Island were one community.

On the pilgrim way, on the shore of the lake can be found St Brigid’s Holy Well and ‘bed’, and a little inland, amid trees, St Daveoc"s ‘bed’.

The mainland sites are not marked.

Station Island is a popular place of retreat and pilgrimage and is accessible only for these purposes.
