The Dingle Peninsula

Inishtooskert

County Kerry

The northern most of the Blasket Islands, 4 miles off the Dingle Peninsula, sometimes referred to as ‘the Dead Man’, the ‘Sleeping Giant’, or the ‘Bishop’, due to the profile of the island. There is an oratory dedicated to St Brendan, a cross and an outdoor altar in the southern part of the island. Much of the island is girt by steep cliffs.
